Released last year by Bandai for their 1/72 Star Wars line was the iconic X-Wing. It can be built in the version of Luke Skywalker's X-Wing or as the regular version.
Star Wars was one of the first movies I saw in the VHS as a kid and I was blown away with the movie. What I liked about it as a kid, aside from the special effects and heroic storyline, was the simplicity of the story that a kid could easily understand. As a parent it's the feel good ending and the Good triumphs over Evil theme that pervades through the movie, saves time of not having to explain anything to my kid *snicker*.
The 1/72 X-Wing Starfighter is selling for $$ at Amazon.
