Thunderbird Shadow designed by Shoji Kawamori

Thunderbird Shadow designed by Shoji Kawamori

Was watching the latest episode of Thunderbirds Are Go and noticed this little tidbit in the credits. And true enough when I googled it, Shoji Kawamori of Macross fame did indeed design the Thunderbird Shadow of the character known as Kayo.

Macross on Google Trends

Macross on Google Trends

Was checking on Google trends the volume of searches conducted that are related to Macross. Being the 30th Anniversary of the anime, Macross, I'd expect some web activity already from the fans. So far just a blip during the tail end of 2011.

1/60 DX VF-171EX Nightmare Plus EX (Alto Saotome ver) up for Pre-Order

1/60 DX VF-171EX Nightmare Plus EX (Alto Saotome Model) up for Pre-Order

Was doing the rounds of Japanese based online hobby shops and I saw that some of them had the 1/60 DX VF-171EX Nightmare Plus (Alto Saotome ver) up for pre-order already. Bandai really shocked us with the announcement earlier this week that they were releasing a DX Chogokin of the much coveted VF-171EX Nightmare Plus of Alto Saotome from the Macross Frontier anime series.

Happy Birthday Aya Endo

Happy Birthday Aya Endo/Sheryl Nome

Today is Aya Endo's 32nd Birthday. If you are Macross Frontier Fan then you will probably know her as the very talented voice actress behind Sheryl Nome (speaking part only, May'n does the singing). She posted her Thank You's to the fans at her blog.

1/60 Macross Gunpod Size Comparison

1/60 Macross GunpodSize Comparison

Looking at the 1/60 scale VF's in my display case, I couldn't help but notice how large the Gunpod of the 1/60 VF-11B is for its size. Which just begged the question, who has the bigger gun? Well this isn't a complete comparison because I don't have any of the 1/60 Macross Zero VF's by Yamato Toys nor most of the DX Macross Frontier line of Bandai, but I guess this is close enough.

Ghost & Lancer II Garage Kits for Macross 30th Anniversary?

Ghost & Lancer II Garage Kits for Macross 30th Anniversary?

Saw this Retweet (or was it a copy paste?) at Yamato Toy's official site from an original Tweet at DIGIMIXStudio. I hope I'm reading it correctly, because to be honest, I have a hard time understanding the tweets at twitter because of its shortened state and unique address syntax, signs of old age creeping up at me...*snicker* Well if I am reading it correctly we can expect a Ghost and Lancer II garage kit (as well as some others) to be released this year for the 30th Year Anniversary of Macross.

30th Macross Anniversary Official Logo

30th Macross Anniversary Official Logo

Update: Turns out that this logo was already unveiled a few months back

Yamato Toys twitter is a buzz because of new information regarding the 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare (Diamond Force ver) that's being released this month. Maybe the most interesting piece of the post was at the bottom, where Mr. K of Yamato Toys posted the official 30th Anniversay Macross Logo. That's the SDF-1 Macross from the Macross Do You Remember Love movie.

Yamato Ozma Lee Macross Frontier Skull Squadron Motorcycle Helmet for Pre Order

Yamato Ozma Lee Macross Frontier Skull Squadron Motorcycle Helmet

Just saw this for pre-order at HobbyLink Japan and Amiami; Ozma Lee Macross Frontier Skull Squadron Motorcycle Helmet (size Large/Large & Medium/Medium) made by Yamato Toys. Scheduled for release by September, the selling price for either one is 15,130 yen each at HLJ, while 14,540 yen at Amiami. Of course you have to take in to consideration the shipping price of this also because of its weight and its size.
