From Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex comes the HAW206 spider tank released as a 1/35 Model Kit by Kotobukiya. Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex has got to be one of the most original and innovative anime series to ever come out of Japan. I remembered watching the two movies and being impressed with the designs and imagery, it was only when I started watching Stand Alone Complex that I became a true fan of the franchise. The episode where the HAW206 comes out is one of the more impactful episodes to come out of the series.
Warning Spoilers!!! : In the episode, Takeshi Kago, the talented designer of the HAW206 passed away and his brain was placed in control of the tank by one of his colleagues. Kago had been a sickly person for most of his life and it was because of his parent's beliefs that he was not allowed any cybernetic implants or treatments to correct his afflictions. Section 9 works to stop the tank's journey to Kago's parent's house as they think it is on a mission of revenge. In the end it turns out that the conscience of Kago just wanted to introduce his new body to his parents.
