Bandai HG 1/144 Gundam Mk-II + Flying Armor English Color Guide

Released in 2005 by Bandai was the 1/144 High Grade Gundam Mk-II + Flying Armor. This mecha was piloted by Kamille Bidan from the Zeta Gundam franchise. The Mk II was a mobile suit stolen from the Titans by Kamile for the AEUG. The Flying Armor is used by the Gundam Mk II to give it better maneuverability and speed, as seen in the anime series.

Bandai HG 1/144 Hyaku-Shiki + Mega Bazooka Launcher English Color Guide

Now this one is really more than 10 years old. The Hyaku-Shiki + Mega Bazooka Launcher High Grade kit of Bandai was released in 2004. The Hyaku-Shiki was the main mecha of series protagonist, Char Aznable in the Zeta Gundam series. It usually worked together with the Methuss attached to the Mega Bazooka Launcher as an external power source.

Bandai HG 1/144 Hi-Zack (Earth Federation Force) English Color Guide & Paint Conversion Chart

Can't believe that this kit is almost 10 years old, the 1/144 High Grade Hi-Zack (Earth Federation Force ver) by Bandai. This mecha came out of the Zeta Gundam franchise, based on the Zaku but used by the Earth Federation Force.

Bandai HG 1/144 Asshimar English Color Guide & Paint Conversion Chart

Didn't think I'd see this after a long time, the Asshimar from the Zeta Gundam anime series. Which was released a long, long, long, long, long time ago by Bandai as a 1/144 High Grade model kit. This mecha transforms to a mobile armor mode, giving it better flight characteristics which is a pretty good advantage to have when going into a battle.

Got this in the mail. Finally it's here. As evidenced by this blog I really go nuts whenever I have a new "toy", but this one is even more special because I've been wanting to build a 1/48 B-25J Mitchell for more personal reasons.

Bandai HG 1/144 Psycho Gundam English Color Guide & Paint Conversion Chart

Released in 2004 as a 1/144 High Grade model kit by Bandai was the Psycho Gundam that was piloted by the Cyber Newtype known as Four in the Zeta Gundam anime series. In the anime series, the Psycho Gundam wasn't your average sized mobile suit as it was very gigantic. The Psycho Gundam and Four met a very tragic end and was one of the low points of that franchise for me.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens 2nd Trailer

Sweet! These are the type of trailers that I like, not enough information to spoil the movie. But then again, Star Wars as a well known franchise, can easily get away with illiciting a huge response from just a small showing of film. Can't wait to see the movie.

So Long Herb Trimpe

Got the sad news today that former Marvel artist, Herb Trimpe, passed away on April 13, 2015. Makes me sad because growing up I read G.I. Joe and Mr. Trimpe was one of the artists that helped bring the pages of those comic books to life. I found out only now that Herb Trimpe was known more his work on Hulk and Wolverine, two very iconic Marvel characters.

Marvel's Daredevil Review

When I first heard the news that Netflix was going to make a Daredevil tv series I have to say that the news didn't elicit a response from me. Not even a shrug or a grunt to acknowledge this morsel of information that should usually get a tingle of delight for my "Make mine Marvel" wired brain. But rather the news was greeted by a click that signified my mouse had told the browser to proceed to the next topic on my feed reader. Fast forward to now and I am now 5 episodes into the series and I can't stop watching it.

From the Star Wars franchise comes the lovable R2-D2 and R5-D4 astromech droids that were released as a 1/12 scale model kit by Bandai. I kinda love the recent Star Wars releases by Bandai because they always seem to do a great job in bringing these classic characters and ships to model form. Then again, what else can you expect from Bandai?, but always the best.

Released by Bandai for the Gundam Build Fighters series was the 1/144 High Grade Transient Gundam. In the series, the Transient Gundam is operated by Wilfrid Kijima.

Was watching the latest episode of Thunderbirds Are Go and noticed this little tidbit in the credits. And true enough when I googled it, Shoji Kawamori of Macross fame did indeed design the Thunderbird Shadow of the character known as Kayo.

Released by Bandai for the Build Fighters line is the Wing Gundam Zero Honoo as a 1/144 High Grade model kit. Honoo actually means a blaze or a fire in Japanese, hence the flaming motif of the Wing Gundam Zero Honoo.

Bandai SD SxDxG Gundam English Manual & Color Guide

From Gundam Build Fighters comes Team SD-R's SxDxG Gundam that was released as a super deformed kit by Bandai. This particular model kit can be built as either the SDG-R3 Giracanon, SDG-R2 Dragonagel or SDG-R1 Snibal. Then if you buy two other kits of this then you can go on to build the Snibaldragogira, which is a dragon-like mecha. Cool really.

Thunderbirds Are Go 2015 Review

Just finished watching the 2015 Thunderbirds Are Go TV series and I have to say that I was very pleased with what I saw. The 2015 reboot of this beloved franchise isn't a SuperMarionation, but instead a mix of CGI and live model sets. I watched this with my entire family present. Yes, we are all fans of the original and I didn't need to remind myself when it was going to be shown because my son ever so often came up to me to remind me of the air date.

Bandai 1/1000 Nazca Class Astro Strike Carrier (Kiska) English Manual & Color Guide

I'm still in my Space Battleship Yamato phase, so I present to you the 1/1000 Nazca Astro Strike Carrier (Kiska) from Space Battleship Yamato 2199 that was released by Bandai. The Kiska belongs to the Gatlantis fleet which is the other alien race in the 2199 franchise that serves as another series antagonist.

Bandai 1/1000 Space Battleship Yamato 2199 Cosmo Reverse Ver English Manual & Color Guide

Another variant of the Space Battleship Yamato released by Bandai from the 2199 series was the Cosmo Reverse Version. If you ask me which version of the Yamato I prefer then it would be the massive 1/350 scale.

Kotobukiya 1/72 UCR-10/L Agni English Manual & Color Guide

From Armored Core V comes the UCR-10/L Agni that was released by Kotobukiya as a 1/72 scale model kit. Like the Vengeance, the design of Agni is truly fearsome. If ever somebody would ask me what "Beast Mode" in a fight looks like then I just have to point to some of the mecha in the Armored Core line. Wouldn't want to go up against that.
