1/60 GN-001 Gundam Exia Build Part V
Major boo-boo on my part. I wanted to give the clear parts a nice glossy coat so I sprayed it with Bosny Clear. The thing turned out frosted. I'm wondering why this happened considering that when I usually spray something with the Bonsy clear it turns out glossy. Oh well, charge to experience. Next time I'll just dip it in Future Floor Wax instead.
Part IV of this build could be found here.
Mounted the clear parts for the GN Drive at the back.
This is how it looked afterwards, mounted on.
And here is how it looks all assembled together.
Here's the chest piece. Was thinking on whether I should spend time painting the grey sticker part, when I realized that in the end its just going to be covered up by the intakes. So I just used the stickers instead.
Here's one of the intakes panel lined with a 0.5mm mechanical pencil
And a finished shot of the torso. Well, not really finished as the shoulder fins weren't mounted yet. I decided to save that for last because I didn't want to accidentally break the part during construction if I left it on.
Some more finished shots of the chest
Then I noticed that the chest piece wasn't put straight in. Couldn't push it in anymore either. Here I got hit with the realization of the importance of snap fitting. With the paint on it makes the pegs thicker and the finished part will have a hard time going in.
So from them on I decided that I should snap fit the parts. Here I cut off the male pegs at an angle so that it will easily slide in its corresponding female side.
Here I am starting with the right arm build.
That's about it, will continue on the next post.
Part VI of this build can be found here.
