Bandai HG 1/144 Rozen Zulu English Manual, Paint Conversion & Color Guide

Released this month by Bandai was the Rozen Zulu as a 1/144 High Grade model kit. The Rozen Zulu makes its appearance from the currently ongoing Gundam UC (Gundam Unicorn) OVA series.

Dry brushing again

First time to try dry brushing after a long time. Last time I tried this I was still in grade school. Used this method to detail up the cockpit instruments of the 1/48 Revell Hind-D.

Figure-rise 6 Double Chaser English Manual & Color Guide

From the Tiger & Bunny anime series comes the Double Chaser of Barnaby Brooks Jr and Wild Tiger released as a Figure-rise 6 model kit. This is just the motorcycle without the Barnaby Brooks Jr. and Wild Tiger figures included, they have to be bought separately.

Bandai 1/100 MG RX-93 Nu Gundam Ver Ka English Manual & Color Guide

The much anticipated Hajime Katoki's version of the Nu Gundam was released this December by Bandai as a 1/100 Master Grade model kit. It differs greatly from the original Master Grade RX-93 Nu Gundam released by Bandai, obviously because its a Ver. Ka special. Notable features of it is that it incorporates a hidden green pycho frame in its inner frame and its fin funnels can be configured in an optional double fin funnel mode. There is also an option to install the separately sold Gundam LED lights in its torso to light up the Nu Gundam. In my book, Bandai really gave the fans what they wanted with this release.

1/48 Revell F-4 Phantom II C/D Completed Build

Finally finished it today, my build of the 1/48 Revell F-4 Phantom II C/D. This model kit was originally built by Monogram and was acquired by Revell when they went out of business. I had this kit when I was a young boy and lost it, now when I had the chance, I decided to build it again. The difference being is that now I have the proper tools and paint (well most of it anyway) to build this kit properly.

Loving Pastel Weathering

Continuing with my Revell 1/48 Phantom II C/D build, I've decided to apply pastel weathering on it. This is the first time for me to do this and I have to say that I'm loving the results.

Released recently by Bandai was the 1/144 High Grade Clanche Custom. The Clanche Custom can be seen in the Gundam AGE anime series from the Gundam Universe. Aside from its mobile suit move, the HG Clanche Custom is capable of transforming to a wave rider mode.

Bandai HG 1/144 Gundam Delta Kai English Manual & Color Guide

From Model Suit Variations comes the Gundam Delta Kai, which was released by Bandai as a 1/144 High Grade model kit. Don't really care much for this mecha's mobile suit design but I just have to say that its wave rider mode looks AWESOME!....kinda reminds me of the flag ship of Lacus Clyne from Gundam Seed....now back to decaling *snicker*

Bandai HG 1/144 Gundam AGE-3 Fortress English Manual & Color Guide

Released last month by Bandai was the 1/144 High Grade variant of the Gundam AGE-3 Fortress from the Gundam AGE anime series. Can't help but think that it sure looks a lot like Seravee Gundam from Gundam 00, sans the bulky torso armor of course.

After 4 days....

I only have half a wing and the central fuselage to show for.... decaling is such a chore....blehhhh. Aside from the other half of the wing, I still have the underside to decal up. When I was a young boy, I don't think I've ever fully decaled up a military aircraft kit before. I always stopped when it got to those "No Step" decals for the wing parts. As a young boy I didn't have the patience to decal up all those parts.

There's been a dearth of posts at this blog lately, but it doesn't mean that I've grown tired nor left model kit building altogether. Quite the opposite actually, I'm knee deep in it.

Bandai RG 1/144 Zeta Gundam English Manual & Color Guide

Released in November by Bandai was 1/144 Real Grade Zeta Gundam. The Zeta Gundam was the titular mecha from the Zeta Gundam Anime series and was piloted by Kamile Bidan. Zeta Gundam was the sequel to the popular Mobile Suite Gundam anime series in the late 70's that sparked the real robot genre of anime.

Yamato 1/60 VF-1A Maximilian Jenius TV Version

Got this back a couple of weeks ago from HobbyLink Japan, the 1/60 VF-1A Maximilian Jenius TV Version by Yamato Toys. This toy was initially released by Yamato Toys in 2009. Translated transformation manual of the 1/60 VF-1A Maximilian Jenius TV version can be found here.

How not to design a model kit

Been working on the 1/48 Huey these past couple of days and I have to say that it has been a chore to build because of the bad design of the kit. In fairness to Revell, they only bought the molds from Monogram so all the blame for the bad design should fall on Monogram and in fairness to Monogram designed kits, not all their kits were as badly designed as this one.
