Looks like the 1/72 Cannon Fodder VF-27 model kit made by Bandai has a name already, VF-27β Lucifer Normal type. Saw these pics over at Amiami, plus its product page over at Bandai Hobby Site. Selling price over at Amiami is 3,980 yen. At Hobby Link Japan its selling for 5,500 yen. 5225 yen at Hobby Search, 4125 yen over at HWJapan
In the Macross Frontier series, the VF-27 was flown by the Antares Squadron of Battle Galaxy that was headed by Brera Stern. The avionics of the VF-27 is similar to the YF-21 of Macross Plus, where in the pilot can command the VF via brainwaves. It was said that in order to survive the massive forces the pilot would have to have cybernetic implants to toughen him up and increase his physical abilities.
According to the product page, there seems to be two head types, the one on the left is the regular kind while the one on the right is the commander version. Must be the one being used by Grace O'conner.
