Darth Maul's Revenge

Darth Maul's Revenge

This week's The Clone Wars episode continues from last week's. Titled "Revenge", it picks up from where Savage Oppress finally locates the disfigured and maniacal Darth Maul. Darth Maul was long thought dead after he was sliced in half by Obi Wan Kenobi's light saber in Episode 1: The Phantom Menace.

Darth Maul's Revenge

Savage Oppress brings Darth Maul to Mother Talzin, who then proceeds to restore his health, legs and sanity. Darth Maul monologues that it was his hatred and yearning for revenge on Obi Wan Kenobi that kept him alive all those years. The two hatch a plan to bring Obi Wan Kenobi to them by taking some villagers hostage. Master Yoda and Mace Windu are reluctant to allow Obi Wan Kenobi to go alone, knowing the trap that will be set for him, but in the end they relent to Obi Wan's request to be allowed to go.

Darth Maul's Revenge

Obi Wan Kenobi is quickly overpowered by Darth Maul with the help of Savage Opress. Maul however has no plans of quickly dispatching of him as he intends to torture him in order to fulfill his plans for revenge against Obi Wan. Obi Wan finds an unlikely rescuer in the form of Asajj Ventress.

At this point Asajj has already left the Sith and is working as a bounty hunter. She arrives on the scene to capture the bounty put on Savage Oppress. Finding the two brothers too strong to beat, Obi Wan Kenobi and Asajj Ventress eject themselves from the ship they are on in order to escape from the fight.

From what I've read, the Clone Wars is a 5 season show. With this 4th Season already ended, the appearance of Darth Maul and the ejection of Asajj Ventress from the Sith kinda complicates the plot of Star Wars. I'm not really excited with the appearance of Darth Maul in the Clone Wars since I feel that he had already served his purpose in Episode 1, and with it cemented his position as one of the best villains in the Star Wars universe. I hope that the producers take extra care with this story line since I wouldn't want Darth Maul to lose the respect of the fans that he rightfully earned with his presence in Episode 1.
