Miniatur Wunderland: Knuffingen Airport

Just saw this interesting post at Doug Drexler's blog on the recently opened Knuffingen Airport diorama at Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg Germany. Twin brothers Frederik and Gerrit Braun were the moving force for making this truly amazing interactive diorama display possible.

This is the last diary entry of Gerrit Braun on this project which features the launching of the display which took a few years to build. I'd recommend watching at youtube so that you can hit the Interactive Transcript button to show the subtitles so that you can easily understand whats being said.

Check out Miniatur Wunderland's Youtube page for more of Gerrit Braun's build diary of the Knuffingen Airport.

Not limited to just the airport there are a ton more excellent dynamic and interactive diorama displays at Miniatur Wunderland.

On hand to open the show was the mayor and Austrian F1 champion, Nikki Lauda. Who himself owns and operates, Nikki, a low cost airline.

After seeing this video I can't wait for my son to see this as he will truly be amazed by this. Just hope he doesn't ask to go to Hamburg Germany to see Miniatur Wunderland in the flesh *snicker*
