Command and Conquer Classic Free Downloads

Command and Conquer Classic Free Download

Kinda off topic but I just had to post about this. Aside from Starcraft, as my most favorite RTS, the one that started it all for me was Westwood's Command and Conquer. So on the eve of the release of Command and Conquer 4, I was happy to find out that they had made available for free on their website, Command and Conquer Tiberian Sun. Also available for free at that link is the original Command and Conquer and Command and Conquer: Red Alert.

If I remember correctly, a game known as Dune was the precursor to the original Command and Conquer.

Command and Conquer 4 is scheduled to be released on March 16th, its selling for $49.95 at EA, but I see that its cheaper at Amazon, going for about $46.99. I myself prefer to buy the games a year or 2 later wherein the price is already way cheaper. Take Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3 for example, cheap already at $25.94. Then again, when Starcraft 2 comes out, I doubt that I'd have the fortitude to wait for a year before buying it *snicker*

I think the best place to buy games however is at Steam. There you just have to download the game and you can play it right away. Oh, and its not just limited to games that were made by them. They sell titles made by other game developers. You have to install however some software from Steam in order to facilitate the downloading and management of the game. Last Christmas they had a sale of some very popular games where titles were going for as low as $10. Some of them were even packaged games, meaning not just one title. Be sure to check out their bargain games, <$10 and $<5
