Yamato announced yesterday the release of the 1/60 scale Hikaru Ichijo Fan Racer model kit. The Fan Racer is limited to 1000 copies only for their club members. Since it's a model kit it has to be assembled and painted. It will be sold for Y3000.
Macross fan's will remember that this was the winged chariot that introduced Hikaru Ichijo to us. He was flying this when he arrived for the inauguration of Macross SDF-1 (hey that happened February 2009. This year!) upon an invitation from his Senpai, Roy Fokker.
He also used this plane to win amateur racing competitions. Sadly though the plane met its demise when he and Lynn Minmei crash landed it on the SDF-1 when they were trying to get back in after the SDF-1 folded out into the edge of our solar system to escape the attacking Zentraedi..

The fan racer has some rocket boosters at the tips of the fan guard to propel it for a short span of time at high velocity. That's supposed to be what those orange tips are in the picture below, the cowling for the rocket boosters.
