Guardians of the Galaxy
I remember when I heard the announcement that Marvel would be producing a Guardians of the Galaxy movie, I was taken aback and thought, what the hell is that? Never heard of them. But then again I was already an adult at that time and during the time I was reading comic books as a teenager I never heard of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
I was asking some friends about this turn of events by Marvel and wondered why they thought it would be a good sell for a movie. To which my friend said that the 2008 version of the Guardians of the Galaxy was actually a good read and actually quite funny. Aside from that kernel of wisdom passed on to me, they also lent me their Guardians of the Galaxy collection that I consumed like a man who was shipwrecked at sea. I was not displeased.
Slated to come out in August 1, 2014 (US Release), I'm actually looking forward to watching it. Headlining the show will be the up and coming Chris Pratt (who will also star in Jurassic World.) Chriss Pratt will play as Star-lord (Peter Quill), the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy. As a fan of him from his Parks and Recreation show (where he is a series regular) I know that his casting will mean that this movie will have more a comedic slant to it. Not that I'm complaining. I do hope the movie doesn't bomb as I really loved the comic books.
