Sneak Peek at Bandai and ThreeZero Collaboration Mecha
Just got this news of an upcoming but still unnamed mecha release that will be a collaboration between toy designer ThreeZero and Bandai based from a design of Kunio Okawara.
This figure is projected to be released this year. It will stand a massive 16.5 inches and in the conceptual designs there is supposed to be a 6 inch pilot figure. Since it is still in the development stage, the price of the figure is still being formulated. The figure will be made out of AMS, PVC, POM, and various cloth materials.
According to plans there willl be a comic and short CG animation to help promote the mecha. It will be an original story and will have other mecha and characters to complement it. This figure is supposed to be of a commander in an army which has different ranks of officers and soldiers. There will also be the hostile camps in the storyline.
I love the design of this mecha because it is a marriage of the Bushido culture of feudalistic Japan and the modernity of robotic technology. Judging that the weapon included in this figure is a Katana, I wonder what this has for long range weaponry? Will we see energy weapons?, projectile? or maybe it will just all be hack and slash? That would be interesting to find out.
