Bought some Koh-I-Noor woodless graphite pencils of the 8B and 4B shade. Will use this for panel lining my model kits.
Been having a ball using a mechanical pencil for panel lining my model kits since I like the effect it has. Now however I want to experiment in different shades of grey, hence me getting a 4B and 8B grade. The pencils cost me about $1.05 each at my local bookstore.
For panel lining a model kit, I first apply a flat clear coat on the surface so that the pencil has a rough surface to adhere to. If in case the paint used is a flat type, I don't bother with the flat coat anymore.
Incase of mistakes in the panel lining, I just use an ordinary eraser to remove the overruns or mistakes in the panel lining. Afterwards I spray on a final coat of flat clear to seal the pencil marks in.
