Yet another example of how childhood memories are massacred by makers of counterfeit toys... hehehe... Found this in the mall again. I've realized that there are two types of piracy when it comes to cartoon related merchandising. There is the blatant copying and then there is the trying to pass it off as part of the franchise. The picture above is more of the latter.
The dead giveaway, aside from the obviously cheap looking toy, is the recycled paper feel of the back of the toy wrapping.
This one is more subtle because although there is no word "Transformers" written anywhere on the packaging this toy looks like a warped version of Optimus Prime and the toy is also referred to as "Transformable".
