Just got an email blast from GOG (Good Old Games) that there is a 50% off sale that will last till January 2, 2012 at 10:59 PM GMT. GOG is a site that sells old PC games at a discounted rate. You could say that they give old games a second life. Its a great way to reconnect with all those great PC games you played with when you were young, that is if its in their inventory.

Released in 1987 by Hasbro for their GI Joe toyline was the Cobra Jetpack. The toy didn’t come with a figure. I always considered this to be the upgrade to the old Cobra CLAW that Cobra used for infiltration. In the literature it was a one man jet pack armed with machine guns and air to air rockets.

Just finished watching yesterday, Mystery Men, which originally came out in 1999. I watched it a couple of times already but this was the first time I introduced it to my wife. Despite its ensemble cast and great script the move bombed at the box office. It didn’t deter it from being a great film in my eyes however. I don’t even remember this movie coming out in 1999, its dismal performance in overseas markets might be a result of bad promotion in the part of the distributor. I saw this first in Japan when a friend mind rented the DVD and invited us to go watch it.

Tunnel Rat was part of the 1987 GI Joe Real American Hero toy line up of Hasbro. He had the designation of being the EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal) of the GI Joe team. Makes me wonder however why he seems to be equipped to install bombs rather than to dispose of them *snicker*
