Kira Yamato’s Freedom Gundam was released this month as a 1/144 Real Grade kit by Bandai. Freedom Gundam came out in the latter part of Gundam Seed and at the beginning episodes of Gundam Seed Destiny. It differs from most of the mobile suits in its era by the presence of a nuclear reactor in it’s frame allowing it to function indefinitely. It is notably armed with Rail Guns and Plasma Beam Cannons sticking out from its waist and from its wings. The Freedom Gundam was suceeded by the Strike Freedom Gundam in the Gundam Seed Destiny anime.

The Mass Produciton MS-06F Zaku II from Mobile Suit Gundam gets made into a 1/144 Real Grade kit by Bandai. Prior to this the Crimson Zaku II of Char Aznable was already given the Real Grade treatment by Bandai. One feature of this Zaku II model kit is ability to build it as a commander/ace type with the addition of a larger antenna.

I was surprised when Bandai released for its 3rd model of the Real Grade line the Aile Strike Gundam of Kira Yamato from Gundam Seed. I was expecting the green cannon fodder Zaku II to be next in the real grade line after the release of the release of Char’s Zaku II.
