Sale on Perfect Grade kits at HobbyLink JapanJust saw this recently on the frontpage of HobbyLink Japan. An announcement for a sale on 1/60 Perfect Grade kits made by Bandai. Expect 30% discounts on some of their perfect grade kits. Sale will end on December 15, 6PM JST.

The recently released 1/60 PG Strike Freedom Gundam However was excluded from this sale. This is not limited to just Gundams as there is also an EVA unit included in the sale.

Haven’t tried building a Perfect Grade kit yet but I sure would want to build one given the detail, number of parts, the gimmiks and the sheer massive size of it. So far the biggest kit I have built was the 1/60 GN-001 Gundam Exia. I sure had fun building that one.

Perfect Grade PG 1/60 ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam English Translation Color Guide and Manual
Update: Great video from HobbyLink TV featuring an interview of the designer of the PG Strike Freedom Gundam (seen here). What’s interesting to note is that the designer said that the PG Strike Freedom benefited from the latest developments in plastic casting technology as well as CAD design that allows them to add more detail to the plastic parts (as evidenced by the amount of details found in the Real Grade Kits of Bandai)

PG 1/60 ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam Color Guide and Manual

December is here so it means that this is the month that the Perfect Grade 1/60 ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam will be released. Bandai must truly love this model kit because there was already a 1/60 non-grade Strike Freedom Gundam released before. Then again, when you think about it, the reason Bandai will release a particular model kit is because of the potential sales that could be generated. Not sure if this is because of some fan poll.
