Please Read this First: Kindly refer to the color chart posted below when using the translated color guides to look for the corresponding paint number. That’s because the translated katakana name of the color guide is sometimes different from the english name of the GSI creos paints. So if you go on the translated color guide alone, there might be a slim chance that you won’t find that GSI Creos paint color in your local hobby shop. When buying/ordering the GSI Creos paint I’d recommend using both it’s paint no. and the english name because I’d seen instances where GSI Creos changed the paint number designation from its english name.

An example of the difference between english name and katakana name is with the most common colors found in the Gundam Model kits: Indy Blue and Daytona Green. Their English Equivalent are Bright Blue (C65) and Bright Green (C66) but if you translate its katakana equivalents in the color guide it says Indy Blue and Daytona Green. Why GSI creos did it this way I have no idea

Took stock of the model kit color guides that have been translated to English and found out that there’s a lot already. Decided to create a list for easier look up. Will update this page periodically whenever a new model kit’s color guide gets translated to English.

Amuro Ray’s RX-93 Nu Gundam from the anime series Char’s Counter Attack. Definitely a very peculiar design for me because the fin funnels are placed off center from the back shoulder. It kinda breaks a paradigm for the need always for symmetric design in order to equate a sense of balance. I still prefer the design of Amuro Ray’s RX-93 v2 Hi Nu Gundam over this.

After posting the translated Color Chart for Gunze Sangyo Solvent Paints, I decided to tackle next the translation of the Gundam line of paints made by GSI Creos. The long list of Gundam related paint products are anchored by its core products of the Gundam Color, the Gundam Spray and the Gundam Markers that aren’t limited to just panel lining use.

Gundam Color

The Gundam Color line is great because it saves you the trouble of having to mix the correct paint shade together for a Gundam model kit. They usually come in the shade commonly found in Gundam mobile suits. If you can’t find these at your local hobby shop, you can always try at Amazon as I saw a 3rd party seller selling it for about $3.45 a bottle.

Recently released Van Saviour Gundam from the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED VS Astray side stories. Based from the Saviour Gundam frame of Gundam Seed Destiny that was made by ZAFT and operated by the Librarian. Decided to translate the color guide of this one after translating recently the Color Guide for the Nebula Blitz Gundam.
