Hobby Link Japan once again announces a sale on select Macross Related products.

Saw this a few days late from the Yamato Toys official blog. Looks like Yamato toys is going to be releasing a VF-19 Kai of Basara Nekki in 1/60 scale perfect transformation by 2010. Along with that is a 1/60 soft vinyl of Brittai from the original Macross Series.

Yamato Toys posted on their site a list of Macross toy related releases for 2010. Already known to the fans were the release of the 1/60 VF-1 Armor Pack (7140 yen, January 2010), then the Macross Motorcycle helmets (38,640 yen, Feb 2010) then the VF-11C with Super Pack(15540 yen, July 2010). Then there was also the announced release of the VF-1S Hikaru Ichijo weathering version.

Schedule for release on January 7 will be Macross Chronicle #39, while on the 21st of January will be Macross Chronicle #40. As a preview for the Macross Chronicle 39, it will feature for its mechanic sheet the VA-3C Invader, which bares a striking resemblance to the A-6 Intruder of the US Navy.

Just saw this at HLJ’s website. Announcement for a special sale on certain Yamato products. If you are a Macross fan (like I am) you’ll see a lot of the very popular Perfect Transformation 1/60 Macross VF’s with slashed prices. 30% off the shelf price is what I’m seeing.

Update 12/01/2009: Thank You for correcting me Mark!, it was “Mari” Iijima… one must never write posts when one is sleepy…

I was never a huge fan of Mari Iijima’s singing of Watashi No Kare Wa Pairroto (My Boyfriend is a Pilot) in the original Macross Series. It was only when I heard Megumi Nakajima’s modern rendition of the song in the Macross Frontier series was I truly impressed with it. Plus of course the animation of the singing during the Miss Macross contest was quite cute. It was great that the creators decided to pay homage to this iconic song.
