Announced today at HobbyLink Japan was a sale on Hasegawa model kits. Sale will last till January 4, 2012. Growing up I always knew Hasegawa for their fine quality aircraft kits. During my time they together with Tamiya model kits always cost more than those sold my other makers.
Had fun looking at pictures from the 50th Shizuoka Hobby Show which was held of course at the mecca of Japanese model kit manufacturers, Shizuoka Japan. That’s because most of the major manufacturers are located there (Tamiya, Hasegawa, Bandai, Aoshima etc) and through their innovation, built up the model kit industry in Japan.
Its basically a sticker that is peeled off then placed on top of the model to give it a metallic mirror like finish. It seems to be thin and stretchable enough that you can use a tooth pick or cotton swab to push it into the recesses of the model’s details.
