Released in 2007 by Kotobukiya for their Armored Core line is the 1/72 Rayleonard 03-Aaliyah. Armored Core is the popular console based game where the player controls and armored mech. If I’m not mistaken, this particular kit is the first kit from the Armored Core NEXT line of Kotobukiya. A lot of the kits in the Armored Core line are configured to specifically accept some major components of the Rayleonard 03-Aaliyah, as stated in their individual manuals.

Released in September of this year by Kotobukiya is the 1/72 Omer Project Magnus from the Armored Core line of video games. If you are looking for an alternative mecha based model kit to build when gunpla suddenly becomes stale to you, I would recommend the ones made by Kotobukiya as they have a large line-up and are built up in a similar fashion as gunpla. Everybody needs a break once in a while so that we can acquire back our taste for the stuff we love most.
