How to Use Mr. Mark Setter of GSI Creos Mr. Hobby Line of Decal Softeners

Watching Plamo Tsukuro (building model kits) in Youtube got me curious as to the Mr. Mark Setter used by one of the promodelers when applying decals to the model kit. Looking at its product page at Mr. Hobby, I found out that it, along with Mr. Mark Softer is a line of decal softening solvents.

How to Use Mr. Mark Setter of GSI Creos Mr. Hobby Line of Decal SoftenersAccording to the instruction posted at its product page. You have to have a gloss coat on where the decal will be applied, afterwards apply the Mr. Mark Setter on it, then apply on the decal then afterwards Mr. Mark Softer. Also in the video, the promodeler decided to apply the mark setter on first with a brush because of the small size of the decal.

The purpose of the Mr. Mark Setter is ensure that the decal adheres well to the model kit. This solves adhesion related problems in old decals and decals with poor quality.

If you can’t buy Mr. Mark Setter at your hobby shop, you can try to order online from Hobby Link Japan or at 3rd party sellers at Amazon who are selling it for $7.95
