Bandai HG 1/144 Z II English Manual & Color Guide

A beatifully crafted version of the iconic Zeta Gundam of Kamille Bidan from the Zeta Gundam series by Bandai in the form of the ZII. As I've mentioned before in this site, Zeta Gundam has always been special to me because it was the first Gundam series for me and was what started the fire in me for me admiration of the Gundam series. Is it just me or does the lower half of the ZII have that Gundam Thrones vibe going for it? What with the enlarged feet and all.

New Feature Added: List of Paints

Been absent for a while in this site but definitely wasn't idle. A new feature was added to Mech9 just today. For articles with translated Color Guides and Manuals it will now include a compiled list of the paints used for the build. That way you can just copy paste the list when you go to your hobby shop to buy paints. As of now the list of paints are from the GSI Creos line, specifically the Mr. Color, Aqueous Hobby Color and Gundam Marker line. Will definitely add more in the future as soon as I have time.

Bandai SD Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex English Manual & Color Guide

After the Master Grade version, now comes the Super Deformed version of the Gundam Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex. The Phenex appeared as a side story in the Gundam Unicorn series. If you are looking for a simple kit that a child can build, then the Super Deformed line is the way to go. A few parts, easy to build and since its a snap fit, no glue is required. Making it so easy that even a child could build it.

Bandai SD Neo Zeong English Manual & Color Guide

From Bandai comes the BB Senshi version of the Neo Zeong of Full Frontal from the Gundam Unicorn OVA. Yep, the normally fierce looking Neo Zeong has been chibified *snicker* Aside from the Neo Zeong, included also in the kit is a Super Deformed Sinanju. So expect a little bit more time and complexity when trying to build this kit. I think a little parental help would be required if a child will be the one to build this kit.

Bandai SD Sengoku Astray Gundam English Manual & Color

Released this year by Bandai was the Super Deformed version of the Sengoku Astray Gundam from Gundam Build Fighters. Aside from this, Bandai also released a High Grade as well as a Master Grade version. Color Guide given for this is for painting by means of Gundam Markers hence the Gundam Marker number is also included. But of course that doesn't mean that you should just stick to Gundam Markers to paint it.

Bandai MG 1/100 MS-06R-1A Zaku II Black Trinity v2.0 English Manual & Color Guide

From the original Mobile Suit Gundam is the version 2 Master Grade release of the Black Trinity's Zaku II by Bandai in 2008. The Black Trinity are a group of Zeon Ace pilots who are known for their vaunted Jetstream Attack to overcome their enemies. The Zaku II was where they earned their reputation. I much prefer them in their Dom's though.

Bandai RE/100 MSN-04 II Nightingale English Manual & Color Guide

It's finally here! The MSN-04 II Nightingale of Char Aznable from one of the Char's Counterattack variant storylines. It was the first kit released by Bandai in their new RE/100 line of model kits. Was giddy when I heard of the news because the price point, for its size, is considered moderately acceptable.

Bandai SD Wing Gundam : Endless Waltz Ver English Manual & Color Guide

Released in 2011 by Bandai as a Super Deformed kit is the Wing Gundam from Endless Waltz. Reading on the interwebs and by checking the traffic on this site I've learned that Wing Gundam has a special place in the heart of North American fans. Because Gundam Wing was aired there it became the series that initiated a lot of them into the Gundam Universe. Well for me it was Zeta Gundam, hence my first Gundam model kit was the Rick Dias.

Bandai MG 1/100 Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex English Color Guide and Paint Conversion

From Mobile Suit Gundam UC: One of Seventy Two comes the Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex released a couple of months back as a 1/100 Master Grade model kit by Bandai. Mobile Suit Gundam UC: One of Seventy Two is a side story of the Gundam Unicorn franchise and the protagonist mecha was the Unicorn Gundam 03 Phenex. The kit gives that Hyaku Shiki vibe to it with the gold plated paint scheme. Painting over it is not recommend of course, with the color guide giving painting mixtures for only the non plated parts.

Kotobukiya 1/72 UCR-10/A Vengeance English Manual & Color Guide

Released last year by Kotobukiya for their Armored Core line was the 1/72 scale replica of the UCR-10/A Vengeance from Armored Core V. All I can say is that as usual, the Armored Core game designers always come up with some pretty impressive mecha designs for their game. Boxy but very utilitarian, that translates to a realistic design, but then again, that's just my opinion. The Overed Weapon - Grind Blade that the Vengeance comes equipped with is truly daunting. Wouldn't want to get into a melee fight with this badboy.

Kotobukiya 1/72 HMM EZ-017 Iguan English Manual & Color Guide

Released a couple of years back by Kotobukiya was the 1/72 Highend Master Model of the Iguan from Zoids. Is it just me or does this thing have cannon fodder written all over it? *snicker* A worthy rival indeed to the earlier released 1/72 HMM Godos. Compared to most Highend Master Model's released by Kotobukiya which are usually complex, you'll have a relatively easier time putting this one together because it has fewer parts.

Kotobukiya 1/72 HMM EZ-015 Iron Kong Schwarz Ver English Manual & Color Guide

Released in 2012 by Kotobukiya was the 1/72 Highend Master Model of the Iron Kong of Karl Schwarz from the Zoids series. I've always loved the mecha that comes out of the Takara-Tomy stable, especially their Zoids series but Kotobukiya was really able to do them a solid by coming out with the Highend Master Model line of 1/72 Scale Zoids. Aside from the Schwarz version, there was also a regular version of the Iron Kong released as a magnificent 1/72 Highend Master Model.

Bandai BB Hi Nu Gundam English Manual & Color Guide

Released last year by Bandai was the Super Deformed version of Amuro Ray's Hi Nu Gundam. I thought a translation would be just about right considering that Bandai just released the MG Hi Nu Gundam ver Ka. Color Guide included in the kit is for painting by means of Gundam Markers, but there is no law that say's you can't paint with good old fashioned model paints *snicker*

Kotobukiya 1/35 HAW206 Prototype English Manual & Color Guide

From Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex comes the HAW206 spider tank released as a 1/35 Model Kit by Kotobukiya. Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex has got to be one of the most original and innovative anime series to ever come out of Japan. I remembered watching the two movies and being impressed with the designs and imagery, it was only when I started watching Stand Alone Complex that I became a true fan of the franchise. The episode where the HAW206 comes out is one of the more impactful episodes to come out of the series.

RE/100 Nightingale Up for Pre-order

In case some of you guys missed the boat on the RE 1/100 Nightgale, it's still up for pre-order at Amazon and it's scheduled for released in October of this year. The RE 1/100 Nightingale is going up for $ at Amazon. This massive mobile suit was piloted by Char Aznable in the Char's Counterattack series and was the perfect foil to Amuro Ray's Hi Nu Gundam.

P-Bandai MG 1/100 Gundam Astray Noir English Manual & Color Guide

Dante Gordigiani's Gundam Atsray Noir from the Gundam Seed Destiny Astray line of model kit's was released as a Bandai Website Exclusive in the form of a 1/100 Master Grade model kit. Kinda love what they did here, they merged two iconic Gundam Seed designs, the Astray and the Strike Noir. In my humble opinion, there's something a bit off though. I think it could do with a better color combination in the paint scheme. But that's just me *snicker*

Bandai MG 1/100 Hi Nu Gundam Ver Ka English Manual & Color Guide

If I was allowed to build only one kit from the entire Universal Century line for the rest of my life, then that would be the Master Grade Hi Nu Gundam. I always loved the design of the Hi-Nu Gundam. Whenever I see the visage of it, it triggers just the right impulses on my synapses to register in my mind as to that which can be defined as a thing of beauty. Rightly so it is a thing of beauty. What with the sleek lines, subtle curves and minute detailing. Majestic... just purely majestic.

P-Bandai MG 1/100 Gundam Astray Red Frame English Manual & Color Guide

Another Bandai Hobby Shop Exclusive, the Master Grade version of the original Gundam Astray Red Frame from the Gundam Seed Universe. Not to be confused with the Master Grade Gundam Astray Red Frame Kai nor the non-grade 1/100 Gundam Astray Red Frame. Also, since its a Bandai Hobby Shop Exclusive, it will be rare to find this in your garden variety hobby shop, unless of course they have access to Bandai exclusives.
