M.A.S.K. Intro

The intro to the 80's cartoon series, M.A.S.K. has been playing through my head lately. Definitely in my book, this could have been the best cartoon intro song of the 80's. Was lucky enough to find an even longer playing version of this in youtube. Now I'm jamming to this song while working on the PC.



With the catch phrase "Illusion is the ultimate weapon," it's story revolved around two competing groups of good guys (M.A.S.K.) and bad guys (V.E.N.O.M.) whose vehicles masqueraded as ordinary vehicles, but underneath the hood were very complex weapons systems. Aside from the vehicles that were unique to each character, their specifically designed helmets also had particular powers designed for the said character.

The show M.A.S.K. lasted for two season and I've been only able to watch a handful of the episodes because of the availability issues in my region. Despite that I loved watching the few episodes I could get my hands on.

The toy line by Kenner was another thing. Boy they were the most smartly designed toys I have ever been able to see. Great detail and the pop-up gimmicks were just brilliantly executed. I was lucky enough to have a rich friend neighbor whose younger brother had an almost complete set. So I had the opportunity to fiddle around with the toys a bit. Left me some good memories too. Not to be left out, I had the RAVEN Corvette in my toy collection at that time.

That song can play on in my mind for all the time that it wants....snicker
