Farewell Mr. Armstrong

Farewell Mr. Neil Armstrong
Update: Beautiful article written by Michael Collins about his friend, Neil Armstrong.

Update: Just saw this great photo essay at the Atlantic on the life of Neil Armstrong. What struck me most was the family's statement on his passing:

For those who may ask what they can do to honor Neil, we have a simple request. Honor his example of service, accomplishment and modesty, and the next time you walk outside on a clear night and see the moon smiling down at you, think of Neil Armstrong and give him a wink.

Was saddened by the news today that Neil Armstrong, the first man to step foot on the moon, passed away due to heart complications at the age of 82.

As a young boy I was always enamored with space flight, because of the technology in the field and the allure of blasting off into the uncharted vastness of space. I remembered scoring well during the 5th grade in our science class when we tackled the space program.

The world needs more men like Mr. Armstrong, smart, talented and imbued with the humility to not let their success get to their head.
