Update: I take it back, I like this design! It finally grew on me after looking at it for such a long time *snicker*
Saw this a few days ago, a pre order announcement for the 1/60 DX Chogokin YF-29 Durandal of Alto Saotome from the second installment of the Macross Frontier movie (Macross Frontier Sayonara no Tsubasa). Nice to find out too that they finally have a name for it: YF-29 Durandal. And with this I get to see as well the VF's Battroid and Gerwalk mode.
Last January they announced a 1/100 plastic model of the YF-29 but I didn't catch with the material posted about it what its name was. According to Wikipedia, Durandal is the legendary sword of Roland.
Not too thrilled with the design though. It pays homage to the YF-19 of Isamu Dyson alright but because of this it starts looking like the VF-27 Lucifer of Brera Stern. But hey, at least the top cannon design isn't as bad as the one in the VF-25 Messiah Valkyrie.
And deep down in my gut I'm hoping that movie doesn't suck and be as cheesy as the first Macross Frontier movie. The movie came out already last Feb 26, but I'm fighting the urge to look for spoilers.
