Bandai RG 1/144 MS-06S Zaku II English Manual & Color Guide

Released this month is the iconic MS-06S Zaku II of Char Aznable as a 1/144 Real Grade model kit. This makes it the second model kit released under the Real Grade line of Bandai. Prior to this was the release of the first ever Real Grade kit, the RX-78-2 Gundam.

1/100 GN-007 Gundam Arios Part VI

This build is turning out to be a diary of my failures. Well, not really my failures, but of the materials I'm using for this build. I settled in for a weekday of painting after spending the evening yesterday sanding down the parts of the 1/100 GN-007 Gundam Arios to get rid of the paint burrs. 1/100 GN-007 Gundam Arios Build Part V

Dipping the parts in a cup of detergent water and leaving it for a day to soak worked well for me. This was done to remove the heavy tape residue that was caused by the botched painting attempt resulting in an over spray that was absorbed by the tape and was stuck deeply to the part.

1/100 GN-007 Gundam Arios Build Part IV

Dunked the parts in a cup of detergent water in order to remove the tape residue of my botched painting escapade last week. It took me a while to work on this kit as I was trying to figure out how to remove the tape residue when I chanced upon the idea to dunk it in a cup of detergent water. This usually doesn't happen to me when I use masking tape so I was quite surprised why the tape decided to leave a lot of residue.

After translating the 1/72 VF-25F Tornado Messiah Valkyrie Manual during the weekend, it made me realize that I hadn't finished translating the manual for the standalone 1/72 VF-25F Valkyrie Messiah model kit yet. Finally wrapped that up today during my spare time.

Bandai 1/72 VF-25F Tornado Messiah Valkyrie English Manual & Color Guide

VF-25F Tornado Messiah of Alto Saotome that came out in the Macross Frontier Movie : Itsuwari no Utahime (the false songstress). This was made into a 1/72 model kit by Bandai for their Macross Frontier line of model kits. The great thing about the 1/72 Macross Frontier model kits of Bandai is that it can transform to the 3 mecha modes that the Macross Frontier mecha's are known for. The 3 modes are fighter mode, gerwalk and battloid.

1/100 GN-007 Gundam Arios Build Part III

Whoops, didn't turn out as expected. It was supposed to be Bosny Yellow Orange over Pylox Caterpillar Yellow with some parts of it taped up. I wanted the subtle difference in color to show up once the taped up parts would be removed.

Bandai MG 1/100 00 QAN[T] English Manual & Color Guide

Just released today was the Master Grade GNT-0000 Double O Qant[T] (00 QAN[T]) of Setsuna F. Seie from the Gundam 00 Movie: Awakening of the TrailBlazer. This is the last mobile suit of Setsuna if ever there will be no more sequels to the Gundam 00 franchise.

Part I of this build could be found here. Its quite hot inside so I decided to work on this kit outside. Great weather too so I got a lot done. Not so much as painting though as I've been wanting to experiment on a slightly different painting scheme for the Gundam Arios.

1/100 GN-007 Gundam Arios Build Part I

Decided on the 1/100 GN-007 Gundam Arios for my next build. Only had two kits left unbuilt. The other one was the non-master grade 1/100 Gundam Astray Red Frame of Lowe Gule. With only that last kit remaining in my inventory I'll have to think about acquiring a new kit so that I don't relapse into my smoking habit. Yep, I use model kit building and eating as a means to break my on-again-off-again smoking habit. Have to control now my eating so that I don't bloat.

Bandai HG 1/144 Brave Standard Test Type English Manual & Color Guide

GNX-Y903VS Brave Standard Test Type from the Gundam 00 Movie: Awakening of the TrailBlazer made into a 1/144 High Grade kit by Bandai. Haven't watched the movie yet (obviously) but am looking forward to the DVD release this December as announced on the official site.

Bandai 1/144 HG Brave Commander Test Type English Manual & Color Guide

GNX-Y903VW Brave Commander Test Type from the Gundam 00 Movie: Awakening of the Trailblazer. Frankly, I'm not too keen on the designs of the mecha of Gundam 00 Awakening of the Trailblazer. Especially of the Brave, which supersedes the SVMS-010 Over Flag from Gundam 00 Season 1. So if ever Bandai decides to make this into a 1/100 or a MG kit, I will just greet it with a muted "yihii"

1/100 SVMS-010 Over Flag Completed Shots

All good things must come to an end, as I'm finally finished building this gorgeous 1/100 model kit of the SVMS-010 Over Flag from Gundam 00 Season 1. The bright spot though, is that despite the build already ending, I get keep it and display it in my cabinet *snicker*

Bandai HG 1/144 Super Custom Zaku F2000 English Manual & Color Guide

Christmas comes in November with the release of the High Grade GPB-06F Super Custom Zaku F2000. This is a great redesign of the venerable Zaku and it comes out in the Gunpla Builders Beginning OVA that is designed to target the "younglings" who are just getting started at Gunpla Building.

This build is coming along nicely. Early in the morning I was able to get some painting done for the main parts then I left them to dry and in the evening got to working to putting together the stuff I had painted. Part IV of this build can be found here.

RGM-79 Powered GM from Gundam 0083 Stardust Memory OVA that was made into a 1/144 High Grade kit by Bandai. This was a souped up GM used by Earth Federation to test new technology for their next generation mobile suits. By souped up, we mean that this mobile suit got this good because of the new technology being installed in it for testing.

Bandai HG 1/144 Gouf Custom English Manual & Color Guide

MS-07B-C Gouf Custom from the 08th MS Team OVA series. Released this year was a newer version of the High Grade kit. This mobile suit played a pivotal part in the defense of a Zeon base from the attacking Earth Federation forces. Piloted by Norris Packard, the MS-07B-C Gouf helped neutralize artillery Guntanks that were bombarding the retreating Zeon forces.
